We salute the Ypsilanti community for their continued support of indie, locally-grown, locally-made, and locally-brewed products and companies. In that spirit, we’re partnering with Harvest Kitchen to provide a new Locavorious winter-time CSA share pick-up spot, at Harvest Kitchen’s cheerful location 32 E. Cross Street, Ypsilanti. Founded in 2007, Harvest Kitchen’s mission statement says it all why Locavorious considers them a soul-sister business:
We make eating healthy local food accessible to everyone. We create meals with the finest local food, working directly with farmers who care for and sustain the earth. We are committed to being part of a healthy and sustainable local food community, which means we support the farmers who grow the food we cook. We are creating a local economy by supporting local farmers and producers. All of our food is grown and made with love and care.
Locavorious CSA members can pick up their locally grown frozen produce shares at Harvest Kitchen on the second Tuesday of the month, from 4 pm – 7:30 pm. This expanded time slot gives you time for a terrifically tasty Tuesday: Happy Hour at Corner, and then you can pick-up your Locavorious share, and ready-to-eat local dinner from Harvest Kitchen!

FAQ: Why change CSA pick-up at ABC Brewpub (aka Corner Brewery) to Harvest Kitchen? ABC is still very supportive of Locavorious and locally-grown food, but the Corner is so popular there are events almost every evening in their space. Last year, I felt like our big blue coolers were really getting in the way sometimes. Harvest Kitchen is another soul-sister business, with a prepared meals CSA and retail options right in Depot Town, so it seemed like the perfect fit for our Ypsilanti share pick-up location. Locavorious and Harvest kitchen have a long-running relationship with sharing employees, equipment, freezer space and dedication to local food and farmers. – Rena
