For the first time in our 9-year history, Locavorious will have organic strawberries as part of our Winter CSA thanks to the Tantre Organic Farm outpost known as “Ann Arbor Organic U-Pick” just north of the Washtenaw Food Hub on Whitmore Lake Road. And thanks to the lovely and speedy pickers Diana & Kristy. And the Strawberry Moon fell on the Summer Solstice, so truly the stars were aligned!
Strawberry season was fast, furious and delicious these past 3 weeks, and we had to be picking-and-preserving fiends. But the team made it happen! Every share will have 1 bag organic locally grown berries plus an additional bag of locally grown strawberries; every fruit share will have 1 bag organic berries & additional bags. Everyone will be so happy to smell & taste these jewels of summer again in the cold of winter.
